Outdoor Living & Our 2021 Picks

Now, of course, if you have a house, it usually comes with a backyard; that's where you destress, relax and entertain. Your front yard is for showing off aspects of your personality that you want the world to see. The backyard, however, is where the real you lets loose.

The modern home is the residential version of the mullet: business in the front, party in the back.

Whether you’re working with a small apartment deck or acres of land, make the most of summer with beautiful, durable, irresistible outdoor furniture and accessories

Patio Scene

The first thing you want to do when designing your patio space, is to decide what functions you want it to serve.  Do you want a space to eat?  A space to relax?  A spot to entertain?  If you’re short on space, prioritize your needs.  You want to think about how often your would use a space and pick those areas that would have the biggest impact on your outdoor enjoyment.

Being in the backyard is great, but sometimes you want to grab your morning coffee, curl up on the front porch and watch the world go by—without the world watching you. A dense leafy perennial vine is a great way to create a green privacy wall. Certain ivies will grow quickly, while others, like this climbing hydrangea, will take several years before they provide enough cover for you to feel comfortable in your ratty pajamas.

Patio Materials

The majority of decks are built with natural woods but building with composite wood is a growing trend. When it comes to composite wood, Fiberon is the best. Fiberon comes in tons of different finishes and styles and looks just like real wood!

Fiberon is created using recycled wood and plastic. This tough, recycled material is practically invincible to the elements and does not need to be restained every few years like wood. In the long run, you’ll spend less time and money caring for a Fiberon deck or patio than you would with traditional wood flooring, making it a worthy investment.

Dining Oasis

If your patio doesn’t have a ton of space to work with, a bistro table is the perfect solution. If space is not an issue a large sturdy wood or metal table that can withstand the weather is always great for entertaining. Keep the table simple and pair it with some fun chairs, possibly with a woven material to add a bit of texture to your look, just like the image below.
