Interior Design and Organization go hand in hand. You can’t have a well-decorated home and also have it completely unorganized. Organization and everything in its place is the key to a well-decorated home or commercial space. Many people have problems occur when they have a large renovation completed or move into a new home or office. Where do you put everything? How does this work? I’m not sure how to function in this space now! Enter the organization portion of the process, where it is important to now use your space to its greatest potential. I have had a number of design clients use Lighter Life Organizing, a new business in Dawson Creek to aid with keeping their home organized after completing the design process with me. Lighter Life Organizing

I’m Jeannie and it’s so wonderful to introduce myself through AM Interior Design. I’ve looked up to Alison as a woman in business but also as a woman in general. So when she asked me to collaborate, I couldn’t have said YES any faster!

I consider myself extremely lucky to have experienced amazing opportunities around the world but as the saying goes, there’s no place like home. So when I knew I was ready to launch my business and the next chapter in my life, I thought, where better to do so than in my hometown of Dawson Creek.

Lighter Life was born out of a passion for organization and helping others live a lighter life. Upon finding self-love, I was able to let go of a lot of feelings, items, and habits that truly weighed me down. I wanted to start living happier and lighter. So that’s exactly what I did! Throughout the journey, I’ve come to understand that a purpose of mine is to pass along this feeling of lightness to others and help them live a little easier every day by not being overwhelmed by their clutter.

Through organization, we achieve a sense of calmness in our surroundings. By ridding ourselves of the guilt, mistakes, stress, and unhappiness that is so often associated with the collection of our items, we are able to breathe and make way for new beginnings. Lighter Life Organizing is here to give you that feeling. To make your life lighter and give you control over your space once again.

Tips & Tricks

Here are my top 3 tricks when it comes to organization:

Matching hangers. For the quickest transformation of a closet, hang each article of clothing up on a hanger that’s exactly like the one’s right beside it! I suggest the slim fitting velvet hangers because of the hold that the velvet has on the clothes that prevents them from falling off easily and their space saving abilities. To take it one step further, categorize your clothing into similar styles and then colour code!

Label. Every item within your home should have a designated home itself. Once you find the perfect spot, be sure to label accordingly. This speeds up the tidying process and helps the rest of your family understand where things belong.

Containment. A simple bin, basket, or canister does a fantastic job at reducing clutter and bulkiness on your shelving. Whether you’re decanting food items to eliminate spillage or placing file folded clothing into a basket to stop it from falling over, containment of items goes a long way in keeping your spaces neat and organized.
