IT'S PATIO SEASON!
The Patio is SET and we are ready to ENTERTAIN!
At AM Interior Design Services, we believe that outdoor spaces are an extension of indoor living areas and should be just as functional and comfortable.
By improving the functionality of your patio, you can create a space that you will love to spend time in and that adds value to your home during those hot summer months.
Living in the north we are inside so many months out of the year so creating a spot outdoors for our family to enjoy was important to me.
There is nothing I love more then a coffee first thing in the morning on the deck listening to the birds or firing up the Treager for gatherings with friends and family on the weekends.
If you have a larger patio like we do or a small space just big enough for two people to sit investing in the right pieces is always a good idea!

WHERE WE STARTED…
we started with peeling paint and cobwebs in every corner…
After a couple days of hard work, we got to this stage!
I’m so excited to use this space once again to host friends and family!
Creating the Perfect Zones to your Deck Space
Adding separate seating zones on the patio is a great way to achieve more function. My goal was to create distinct areas for lounging, dining, and socializing, which allows our whole family to make the most of our outdoor space. By incorporating comfortable seating and tables, I’ve created inviting areas that are perfect for patio games with the kids, entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet evening outside.
Using outdoor area rugs are a perfect way to create the illusion of rooms or “zones” on your deck for dinning, conversational areas and of course my favourite sun tanning!
Another way to create a nice space is to use a colour or a pattern to create a cohesive look like I did with repeated stripes in different colours or using blue and white in different patterns.
One of my all time favourite stores to grab my furniture from is Canadian TIre! I have always found great staples there, some of the pieces like my outdoor sectional I have had for 8 years! It has stood up against my kids, animals and our harsh weather conditions. What I have done is added different throw pillows, outdoors rugs and umbrellas as accents to help refresh the sectional over the years.
SHOP THE LOOK !
Our dining table we just purchased last year from Canadian Tire, our newest purchase are the swivel chairs ( that my husband picked out) great for that seating that nestles in-between our conversational area and our dining space.
The propane fire table is from Canadian tire, which we have doubled as a side table or coffee table.
The two outdoor rugs, and umbrellas are purchased from Wayfair Canada, AND our poolside lounge chairs and our dining chairs are from Costco!
